2. He distributes portfolios among the ministers.
3. He presides over the meetings of the Cabinet.
4. The Chief Minister is responsible to the Central Government so he maintains a goodrelationship with the central government.

20.Give five reasons for road accidents.
Ans. 1. Fast speed: – This is the main reason for road accidents. It is always difficult to control a vehicle at fast speed.
2. To ignore road signals: – Sometimes drivers ignore the road signal to cross the road. In such situation there is every possibility of an accident.
3. Overloading of vehicles: – Sometimes the owners overload their vehicles with goods or passengers. It hinders the view of other drivers and causes an accident.
4. Underage drivers: – Children below 18 years of age start driving without having a proper license. It is dangerous for their own and others’ lives.
5. Wrong overtaking: – Wrong overtaking sometimes leads to head on collision between twoor more than two vehicles.

Ans. There is a bicameral legislature in some states of India. Legislative council is the upper house of the state legislature. Its members are indirectly elected. Its term is 6 years. 1/3 of its members are being retired after every two years. It is a permanent house. This house can’t be dissolved.

Q 2. Describe the main features of the Indian-Muslim architecture.
Ans. During Indian-Muslim architecture period many types of buildings such as palaces,forts, graveyards, mosques etc. were built. The main features of these buildings were domes and lofty minars.

Q 3. Why Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan is called the ‘Prince of Builders’?
Ans. Shah Jahan was a great builder. He built Diwan-i-Aam, Diwan-i-Khas in the fort of Agra, Jama Masjid, Moti Masjid and Taj Mahal . So, he is called the ‘Prince of Builders’.
